Wings Of Hell Custom Chain-Stitched Thrashed Denim Jacket

Sold

Item Description:
Brit's favorite ever!!! This amazing artwork is from a 1970's black light poster titled "Wings of Hell".

Our friend created this custom chain-stitched patch which was then sewn onto an awesome vintage jacket. P
assed down his family for over 70 years, he truly is the master of chain-stitching - and loves doing it on old jackets nonetheless, using antique tools and threads to go along with the vintage clothing that he collects and uses.

Chain stitch is a sewing and embroidery technique in which a series of looped stitches form a chain-like pattern. Chain stitch is an ancient craft - examples of surviving Chinese chain stitch embroidery worked in silk thread have been dated to the 5th – 3rd century BC. Chain-stitching the back of this jacket took 5-6 straight hours.

Please note the pricing on these jackets is higher in order to pay the skilled craftsmen what they deserve for their time, work, and skill- not to mention the amazing vintage piece itself!
